Nanny Cam.

Busy week for Em and the kids.  Lily insists on drinking out of a big girl cup, just like her brother.

Isn’t she cute?  That’s an Ironman tattoo on her bulging biceps.

Em and Lily went to Saige’s house early in the week, and then on Thursday the kids invited Saigey-pops, Grayer, and Harry over for a play.

   OCD.

It appears as though my OCD has been genetically transferred to my offspring.  Sorry mate…

 Arm.

Jay and I were talking to his parents one morning on the drive to work.  His mom expressed concern over what appeared to be a bug bite on Lily’s arm from Fiji.  Neither Jay nor I knew what she was talking about, but she insisted that we check it out.  Here is the photo that had her worried, which turned out to just be a scrape.

So as soon as Jay got to work, he called Em and told her to take a picture of Lily and post it on Facebook with the caption “I sure wish we would have paid more attention to that bug bite on Lily’s arm.”  So funny!!

 Tie!!

We have tried before to teach Ty how to tie his shoes, but his dexterity must not have been developed enough.  This week Emily showed Ty about 10 times how to tie his shoelaces and by golly, he got it!!  So proud of you Ty!

   Grand Final!

Wednesday night I played in our netball Grand Final.  We were up against the youngest team, who had previously destroyed us.  We came in with the right attitude, and I think they thought it would be a piece of cake.    We were mentally prepared and they were not – I guess something that comes with age.  We were able to hang with them the entire game, taking the lead from time to time.  They pretty much panicked.  The Wing Defense that I was playing against was huffing and puffing and she said “I’m out of shape.”  I looked at her and laughed, for real laughed, and said, “oh honey, what are you?  Like 16?”  To which she replied, “No, I’m 14.”  I told her that I’ve got more than 20 years on her…  Anyhoo, it was a fantastic game, we all played at our best.  We ended up losing the game by one point, but we were all really proud of our efforts.  I was really looking forward to a netball souvenir in the form of a medal.  Or something.  But the runner up prize was a gift card to go out to eat somewhere.  Meh.  Don’t get me wrong, I am looking forward to hanging out with the girls off the court, but was really looking forward to the sweetest souvenir ever.  We better win the Grand Final next season – only get to play one more arson before we move back home.  One more shot (no pun intended).  Great game Angels!!

    Fever.

Lily was not herself on Friday, wanting extra cuddles from Em all day.  When she woke from her nap she was burning up, so Jay and I headed home to pick up Ty and make sure Lily was OK.  When the Panadol kicked in she was acting more normal.  She did want extra cuddles throughout the night, but woke up Saturday seeming to be back to normal.  Until she puked at lunch.  And then had a very restless nap.  My gut was telling me something was up so I cancelled our babysitter for the night.  Sunday morning when I went to brush her teeth, her tongue was a mess.  I instantly thought she had Hand Foot and Mouth.  Crap.  I stayed home with her all day while Jay and Ty had a boys day with Brumby.  Lily got progressively worse.  Sunday night was miserable.  Emily got heaps of cuddles on Monday (in between cleaning up puke), and again on Tuesday.  Finally by Tuesday night she was able to eat a bit more.  Wednesday morning she was pretty much back to normal, except for the blisters on her hands and feet.  Such a yucky virus – and there is nothing that the doctors can do for her.  Sleep and cuddles.  Poor little princess.

   Horses.

Emily got to go play with some horses again over the weekend.  And a giant Python.  Ew!!!  She had a great time.  It’s so nice that she has made friends and can get away from time to time.

   4th.

I enjoyed watching all of the 4th of July festivities on Facebook.  We supported our love of the good old USA by dressing in red white and blue for the day.

 Wyoming.

Mom and Brooke are out in Wyoming visiting my brother.  *sigh*. I would love to be there with them.  Mom’s birthday is this week.  She turned 21 again.  I hope she doesn’t get too crazy at the tavern.  Happy birthday mama!!

This weekend is Lily’s 2nd birthday (where did the time go?!?!), Jay flies down to Melbourne on Sunday, and Em and I are hauling the kids to Melbourne on Tuesday.  Hoping that everyone is good and healthy by then.  G’day mates!!
