As I sit upstairs and listen to the playful shouting and laughter happening downstairs, I can’t help but be sad about the fact that riley is flying back to the states tomorrow morning. It has been so great having him here. I’m not just saying that to be nice. I really truly mean it. I cannot imagine how I would have gotten through some of the stuff we had to deal with since his arrival without him here. He was more than a helping hand. He was a saving grace.
I will always remember our trip to the Great Barrier Reef, discovering the crab sand balls on 4 Mile Beach, and hearing about how the boys all peed on a mirror. Watching a surf lesson, seeing Riley hug a koala and pet a kangaroo, and drinking a legal beer with him on the boat. Heaps of memories!
All of the fun adventures aside, by far my favorite part of the past month has been watching the bonds form between Riley and my babies. I predict that they will all be best buds forever.
