Em Update.
Em is still in pain, but was at least able to get out of bed, take a short walk, and take a shower today. She has a broken sacrum, which is apparently pretty tough to break. :(. No word yet on surgery. She sent me a picture of her bruise on her bum. I won’t embarrass her by posting a picture if her backside on the internet, but what I can say is that holy heck it looked painful. :(. Ty wanted to call to check on Auntie Em and we at least saw her smile a few times. Thank you to everyone that has stepped up to help her out. I am feeling guilty about not being there for her. :(.
Carz.
Jay cooked a yummy brekky before he and Riley left me alone with the two kiddos for the day. They went with a guy from work to the car show. From what little bits I have been able to hear from the boys since they came home (in between “dad” “hey dad” “dad”), it sounds like they had a good time. There were only 4 or 5 old utes there, so jay didn’t come home with one. But he did get some info about who to contact when he gets real serious about finding one. Jay said it reminded him of the Good Guys car show. From what I saw of it in our drive down the coast yesterday, it was a way classier deal than the one we went to when we first got here.
Bike-Golf-Swim.
As soon as the boys left, Lily and I walked alongside Ty as he rode his bike down the road. We stopped at an empty lot so he could play a little golf. He may not have the best form, but at least he is safe!
Since we are going to be at the Reef next weekend and will miss Ty’s last swim lesson this term, I was able to get him a makeup lesson this morning. It was a different teacher, but he did great! It might have been his best lesson yet. The next term starts a week from now, and since we will be in the US for most of August , we decided to hold off on signing him up for the next term. Hopefully he won’t forget everything he has learned!
The Rest of the Day.
We got home from lessons at 10:00. The rest of the day seemed to take forever. We played in the toy room, ate lunch, then went upstairs to rest and watch a movie. Lily fell asleep. Ty did not. More toy room. I tried to get Ty to put on his socks about 25 times so that we could go for a longer bike ride, but he didn’t seem too interested in that idea, and I got sick of asking. I chased Lily around the house all day. Literally all day. So yeah, not a very exciting afternoon for us. I have so much respect for stay at home moms and single parents. I at least knew the boys were coming home before dinner so I had that to look forward to. And gosh, am I glad I didn’t decide to be a stay at home mom. Don’t get me wrong, I love my babies, but I am used to having 2 (or 3) people around to keep an eye on them. Exhausted. As soon as the boys came home, they were sent to the grocery store with the kids, while I sipped a glass of wine and finished my book (the 5 Dysfunctions of a Team – great read!!).
My phone crashed today durning a routing software update, so unfortunately I don’t have any pictures to add. Use your imagination !
Lily passed out early, so I am expecting her to come to our room early tonight. Ugh. Sounds cute at first, and then she pulls, kicks, grunts, and squirms her way through the night… So, off to her for me. Still haven’t decided what tomorrow will bring, but we will do something. I must get out of this house!! Have a great day mates!
