Busy Week.
This week was a busy one. Jay had month end, and I had heaps going on. It was the normal rush rush rush when I got home every night. Having Riley around to help with the kids was really nice. During the days, Riley watched sports, went on buggy rides, fished (nothing yet), went to the marina. He said he isn’t bored yet – hoping he can keep that up. He cooked our pasta dinner one night. It was so nice to come home and have dinner on the table. Thanks Riley!!
Friday night we fed the kids and went to the marina for a late dinner. Ty curled up in the chair under a couple blankies and fell asleep (shortly after he pushed too many buttons on my phone and caused it to restart). Lily snuggled up with dad and crashed, then spent the rest of the evening sleeping in her stroller. We had a lovely dinner. So nice.

Sea World.
Saturday morning we had swim lessons. It was the new coach again. He did better than last week, but still seems to not be doing as well as he did with the last coach. It’s good for him to have to adjust, but he must have been really thrown about having a different coach. She did say that he is close to moving on.
After swimming, it was time for gymnastics. He had a great time. So fun to watch him listen, play, and learn.
After a quick stop at the house, we headed to Sea World. We haven’t been there since we first moved here. We have a season pass, so we thought we better get some more use out of it. Unfortunately it was kind of a yucky day – wet & rainy. But it didn’t spoil our fun too much. The dolphin show was amazing. Ty’s favorite part was when the trainer was pushed around the lagoon super fast by the dolphin, and then he stood up on 2 dolphins noses. It was awesome. Lots of cool tricks – backflips, twists, jumps over boats. Lily was even clapping at the show.
We spent quite a bit of time in the underwater viewing area. So cool to see the sharks, turtles, rays, and other fish. They had a separate area that was a coral reef – gave us a taste of what we will see in a couple weeks when we go to Port Douglas and snorkel at the Great Barrier Reef. Side note on this…the humpback whales are starting to appear on their migration up the coast. The boat that is going to take us out to the reef says our chances of seeing a whale on the way to the reef is high, especially in June!!!!!! I can’t wait!!
We saw a polar bear, a 3D movie about Sponge Bob Square Pants, and had lunch overlooking a pond full of dolphins playing with balls. They were actually throwing the balls up to people standing alongside the water. Have I mentioned how much I love dolphins?
Prawns.
We stopped by the trawler prawn market on the way home. There were probably a dozen shrimp boats docked in a market area. I have heard about this place but haven’t given it a shot yet. Tonight is the night to try my hand at cleaning prawns. They are already cooked, so I just have to “rip the head off, peel the skin, and eat it” according to the fisherman that sold them to me. I’m a little nervous, but it doesn’t get any fresher than this, so I’m going to try. I’ll let you know tomorrow how it goes.
Aloe.
Just wanted to share this picture of my aloe plant at my front door. It has turned a really pretty yellow/orange color. I think it is supposed to do this, although based on my black thumb, it could very well be dying. In any case, it is pretty!
Relax.
Since we walked about 10 miles today, we are resting a bit this evening. Ty is watching a movie, Lily is playing in the toy room, and the big boys went to the grocery store. Looking forward to a yummy dinner tonight!
