Recovery.
We thought Lefty’s was fun while we were there, but we didn’t realize how fun it was until Sunday. We left the bar a little after 11:00. Caught the midnight train to the Gold Coast, which dropped us off at the station at 1:00. By the time we drove from the station to home and chatted with Miss Steph a while about the kids, it was nearly 2:00 before I got my PJs on. And then, of course, Lily decided she didn’t want to sleep anymore. I brought her into bed with us, gave her a bottle, but she tossed and turned and grabbed and kicked and whined for EVER before falling asleep. I had tried to wake Jay to take over, but he messed up his back (great…) and had taken a pain killer that knocked him out. I was up until after 3:00 and kept getting woken up by wiggle worm. Thankfully the kids slept until almost 7:00, and them since it was Mothers Day, Jay took the kids downstairs and let me sleep until 8:00.
Mother’s Day.
Jay and the kids made me an awesome Mother’s Day card(board). Jay made eggs and pancakes. Rick was feeling the pain probably the worst out of all of us. As we were talking about options of things to do, he suggested just vegging out, which was exactly what I wanted to do but didn’t want to waste a vacation day. We went for a little morning swim, but it was a bit chilly so we didn’t last too long.
Rick had wanted to buy some shrimp off of the shrimp boat, so we drove to Sanctuary Cove to see if the trawler had arrived. It was there, but it was unfortunately sold out. :(. The restaurants were all booked out with reservations for Mothers Day, so we ate ice cream to hold us over. We went to the grocery store and picked up some stuff to grill. I made an awesome discovery while I was at the IGA in Sanctuary Cove. They have Franks Red Hot Sauce, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, Pop Tarts, and Nerds. Score.
BBQ.
I made guacamole, and Jay made buffalo chicken dip when we got home. The boys marinated some pork chops. Rick, Lily and I all took a little nap. When we woke, Rick helped Ty plant my Mother’s Day plant in the garden. :). Rick grilled steak, pork chops, and veggies – delicious!
After dinner we put together a puzzle and took it easy. Have a great week!
