Ugh.
The worst (and only bad) part of having guests come visit is saying goodbye. It is a true test to my ability to maintain control if my emotions. If I didn’t have a son who is receptive to that type of thing, I am sure I would have been bawling my eyes out when Jeff and Rachel left. We are so blessed to have such amazing friends. We will never forget the fun times we had down under. “Is the guac done yet?” After they left, Jay and I drowned our misery in the box of Max Brenner chocolates they bought for us – it sort of helped. :). Miss you guys!

Car seat.
Ty asks every so often if we can take the red car places. We had been thinking for a while that we should get a little booster car seat for the red car. Our motivation to get a booster was kicked up a notch when we had to take two cars places the past couple of weeks and Ty was really upset to not be able to ride with dad. So Jay stopped and picked one up on the way home from the airport. Ty was excited, had to get buckled in right away. We went inside and had a little snack (cheese and crackers). The boys decided to run to the boat store to find a new life jacket for Lily, so they took the red car. Ty rode in the middle, criss-cross applesauce, with a big smile on his face the whole way there.

Lily and I had a pleasant time while they were gone. I did a few chores and could tell she was getting sleepy. My back has been sore so I can’t hold her for too long, so we went upstairs and laid on our bed, and found Step Up 4 (oh yeah!!!) on TV. She sat up and watched/danced a bit then fell asleep on my chest. So sweet.

And then the boys came home. I hear Jay shouting that he needs towels and a hand, and I hear the shower running downstairs. Ugh. Not good. Apparently the cheese didn’t sit well in Ty’s belly, and he woke from a nap in the car with a full on projectile vomit. All over him, the car, and his brand new car seat. They were almost home, too, which makes it worse. No worries, Ty hadn’t slowed down at all today. I think the cheese was just a little too rich for him. Poor kid.

But on a positive note, Lily’s new life jacket is a lot more comfortable for her. Yay!

Relax.
After lunch we all decided that rest is just what we all needed. Ty laid down for a nap, and Lily snuggled up in the big bed with Jay and I. She wanted to sleep but was fighting it. She does this thing where she wants to touch everything, so she sticks her fingers anywhere. She tried to poke our nose, ears, eyes, mouth. It’s like we are being attacked. It’s a good thing she is cute. :). I actually got to take a much needed nap, and Jay watched a random movie. Kind of a nice, relaxing day.

Lemonade.
Ty was watching Monsters University and they were talking about getting eliminated. Ty said, “mom! If they win, they get a LEMONADE!” (Hands in the air, big smile on his face)

Easter.
Happy Easter! Sunday morning Ty came running into our room, so excited to see if the Easter bunny had found us in our new home. He did! He left a chocolate bunny on Ty’s nightstand, a kite on the couch, and he brought 2 3d puzzles…and heaps of candy. If you have seen the movie Hop, you will appreciate the piles of jelly beans all over our house.

Cove.
Sanctuary Cove was having an Easter celebration, so the boys put on their “handsome clothes” and we headed over. They were having a buggy decorating contest – mom would win, for sure. We did an Easter egg “hunt” which was more like a treasure hunt. We had to walk around all of the stores to find eggs with code words on the windows of the shops. He got a giant chocolate bunny at the end. Kind of fun for Ty. Nothing like the hunts in the parks that they have in the US, though. Everyone on the Gold Coast thought it would be fun to spend the day at Sanctuary Cove, as well, so we couldn’t get a table at a restaurant. We picked up Chinese food on our way home – pretty tasty. Lily even had some of the chicken.

Dinner.
We are going to Brian and Mindy’s for dinner, so when we got home we made some salads and tried to get Ty to take a nap. Overall it was a pleasant Easter Sunday.
