Relaxation.
Memaw had a couple days to thaw out from the polar vortex in the Midwest. She went for walks, laid out by the pool, went swimming (she never goes swimming!). She ironed all of Jay’s clothes, did our laundry, and had dinner ready for us when we got home from work. Thank you!!

Teeth.
Tuesday afternoon I got a call from daycare. Lily was quite uncomfortable and had spiked a low grade fever. I went and picked her up. Turns out 2 teeth are coming in on the bottom and 2 teeth are coming in on the top of her mouth. She was up off and on all night Wednesday night. When she woke up Wednesday morning she still had a temp, so she got to stay home with Memaw. She was pretty unhappy most of the day, but is so lucky Memaw was here to give her lots of snuggles and love.
The next night was even worse. Poor Lil woke up at 12:30 and screamed for an hour and a half. Nothing we could do made her happy. Nothing worse as a parent than knowing your child is in pain and you can’t do anything to make it better. :(.
Making matters worse, I couldn’t fall back to sleep for an hour and a half after Lily settled down. I have been in Six Sigma Orange Belt training this week, and my brain wouldn’t stop thinking of ideas. Super annoying at 2:00 in the morning! But I guess the training was effective. :). As a side note, we followed the Orange Belt training with a 1.5 day Facilitators meeting. For my fellow employees, both courses were really good – possibly the best I have taken at Deere, so I would recommend looking into it.
The good news is that by Friday Lily’s temperature was normal and she was able to go back to school.

Unicorns.
During one of the drives to school this week, Ty started rambling on about rainbows. Jay added to the conversation that rainbows usually have a pot of gold and leprechauns. And then Ty said, “and those animals that are like a horse…what are they…?” Jay said, “Unicorn?” Ty said, “You got it! A unicorn!” What the heck? Who is this kid? Hilarious! And then he continued to ramble about Dora. Ah ha! Now it makes sense. 80% of what Ty knows about life he learned from Dora.

Weekend!
Now it is Saturday morning. We survived another week! Now for the fun stuff.

To be continued…
