Birthday.
Jay’s birthday was on Thursday, sort of Thanksgiving but not really. We were planning on going out to lunch together but unfortunately month end got in the way. :(. I had found a place where he could drive Porsches, but couldn’t get approval from him to spend that much cash on his birthday, so he got a Holden Racing hat and t-shirt, and a homemade card from Ty and Lily. Pretty uneventful birthday, unfortunately. :(. I didn’t even cook him dinner. He stopped and picked up kabobs (not like a kabob on a stick, but a yummy meat/veggie/saucy combo in a tortilla). Worst wife ever…

Neon.
Anyone who works a job where they could at some point have to walk on the road (at least this is my observation and assumption) wears a brightly colored shirt – mostly neon green or orange. Truck drivers, maintenance guys, pool guys, plumbers, etc all wear this type of uniform. I am curious if it is a requirement or just the way things are here. I think it’s great, seems like an easy way to improve the safety of workers.

Water park.
The office Christmas party is on Saturday at one of the water parks – Wet & Wild. We couldn’t pass up probably the only time in our lives to go swimming around Christmas. :). Ty will love it, I’m sure. I am starting to get a bit self conscious though about the fact that a bunch of my coworkers are going to see me in a swimsuit, and I don’t exactly have a great figure these days (baby #2 has done weird things to the shape of my body)… But even more so, I am really hoping that none of the employees show up in speedos. You may laugh, but speedos are the suit of choice here. Board shorts are for shopping at Kmart. Speedos are for swimming… More to come on this after the party…
